We need all the good Okies we can get, and Gene was definitely one of them, even if he arrived here via the "Show Me" State. He will be missed, but has now arrived at his final home.

I met Gene through my first White Elephant trade here on Trad Gang;  his offering was a brand-new, custom made set of arrows....we had a number of conversations on KC, Oklahoma, and Missouri...

Prayers sent for his family.

To All,

The funeral will be in Crawford Oklahoma at the Magnolia Babtist Church (service and lunch are at church) on Wednesday Oct. 27th at 2:00pm. There will be a lunch held at church at noon for anyone who wants to come. Crawford is just a few minutes North of Cheyenne. There is open visitation in Cheyenne on Tuesday 26th all day at the Rose Chapel Funeral Home. There are two motels in Cheyenne Lindsay was pretty sure the names were-- M's Motel and Cheyenne Motel and then few minutes down road is a crossroads called Croton Creek and they have a motel she didn't know the name.

The family would prefer you give to charity of your choice (Gene was partial to St. Judes). Another option is Lindsay is going to donate a bow of Gene's to the UBM Festival for us to raffle off and money to go to Hunt of Lifetime or returning war veterans in our communities of MO choice will be announced later. You could wait and buy tickets to donate then if you wish.
I am sure Jeanie and girls (Nikki, Lindsay, Mia (grand daughter) would appreciate cards. Mail to RR2 Box 196, Cheyenne, OK 73628.

Our thoughtrs and prayers to Gene and family.  I haven't seen Gene in quite a few years.  We touched base once in a while, but I never made it to see him in OK.  I'll remember him as a friend, bow brother and maker of GREAT campfire coffee.

Thank You Guys for all the kind words.  This is Gene's brother, Bruce.  He will be missed here I see, as well as home.  We both enjoyed the passion for hunting, tho I never used a bow as much as he.  I am a vamint hunter (coyotes, bobcats, prairie dogs, etc.) When I hunt deer, elk, etc., my primary weapons have alway been pistols or my Shiloh Sharps 40-70.  Here at the hunting lodge, my son, daughter-in-law, and the grandkids are bow hunters.  But, as Gene alwats told them, they use training wheels on theirs.  We do have a few clients here that do use traditional archery and they do very well.

Thanks again for all the kind words and prayers for our family.  WE APPRECIATE IT.

Prayers for the family sent from Georgia.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!

Bruce:  I hunted turkeys on your ranch way back around 1997. One thing I loved about Gene is when he started pulling knives out.  Just when you would have thought he was done there would still be a couple more still tucked away!  Will be thinking about you, Jeanie and the girls today.

Gene was one of those guys that always seemed to have a smile on his face. I got to know him a little better the year I camped next to him at Comptons. He was a very warm and friendly man and he will be missed greatly. Prayers for his family.
