Less than two weeks away. I talked to Travis "Claypipe" yesterday and he's ready as well. Looks like he will arive on the 3rd and I'll be there on the 4th. Hope some more of you decide to make it.
For those that don't know, we'll be hunting James Collins WMA in eastern Oklahoma on the weekend of November 6-7. We will be primitive camping, hunting deer and hogs and BSing around the fire.
Can't hardly go wrong with a plan like that.

I'm still planning on being there. I drive past the area you'll be camping on my way home from work every day so I may stop in, otherwise it'll be Friday nite or Saturday before I make it out.

Sounds like a great time. Take notes and keep me informed on the hunting. I will be hunting that area mid December. I have a tag for KS and will be hunting there on the weekend of your hunt or I might try to make it.

I hope you guys have a blast! Looks like good weather, and at least a little cooler. I wish I did not have commitments, or I'd join you. Please provide a full report when you get back.

You guys have picked the best days i have experienced in Oklahoma deer hunting with a bow. Almost never fail to get a shot or see good deer on the 6th of November. My wife and i have had real difficulties over my hunting the 6th over the years when other things she thought more important got in the way.

I'm at an 80% go and my hunting partner, andbrother in law, is at a 60% go. We will know for sure in a few days. All depends on our wives.
My brother in law is typically a wheelie shooter, but appreciates trad gear and agreed to shoot a recurve for the trip. So is it ok he's not a full blood trad hunter?
I have been working on the conversion;)

I'd tell him to shoot what he's comfortable with. He's welcome either way.

The bucks are chasing already. I have a lease in Roff OK and got a call this morning, a couple of my buds have taken good deer today.
