Success with a Stalker Recurve
« on: October 24, 2010, 10:04:00 PM »
While I may become the world record holder for "smallest whitetail buck ever taken with a Stalker recurve", I sure am pleased with this 6pt. Shot him tonight right behind my house from a Loc On that when I stand I can just see my garage door.

It's in a natural funnel between bedding areas that I helped a little by adding a small food plot. The downside is that it takes an odd wind to hunt it.

As deer are prone to do this time of year, he came from a direction I didn't expect. Walked right by the base of my tree without spooking (maybe he'd gotten used to smelling me:) walked out 5-yards and graciously hung a right turn where a grunt from me stopped him. Trail was the perfect kind-obvious and short.

Nice job CJ! I love seeing those success pics.  With the way you've been shooting that thing, I knew it was only a matter of time.

Nice going!  Looks like a trophy to me.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.
