looking for info on bows
« on: October 26, 2010, 10:19:00 PM »
Hey Guys,
Its been forever since i've posted anything on here but check in time to time just to see whats goin on. I would like to get some opinions on some bows you guys are using. I tried building some of my own but found out i just don't have the time for that right now. I spent all my time trying to build bows than i actually did hunting or shooting. I think its time i just buy one and practice with it.

I'm looking for something around the $200 dollar range. Nothing fancy, not a custom or anything just a good reliable hunting bow. Longbow or recurve doesn't really matter. I've shot both and feel comfortable with either. I would like it to be between 58"-62" and possibly a take down. I don't hunt anywhere close to my house so i think a take down for traveling would be nice. I know everyone has their own opinion but i'm just looking for some info on low price bows that you guys have used.

I've had several of the newer bear grizzly's and shot them fairly well but i never could get used to the grip. So for now i'm going to rule out the bear grizzly. Thanks for any info you guys can give me!

Hey Adam,
If you don't have time to build one, but can find the time to finish one Two Tracks bow and Wool sells some unfinished bows that are in your price range, may be worth looking into?

I guess if we run into the bear that is making these tracks, we oughta just get off the trail.......He seems to like it!

A Bear Montana longbow is a nice bow,you can usally find a good used one for $150 to $200.It is a 64 inch bow,but a solid decently priced bow.You can also find some nice old Bear and Howatt recurves at decent prices.

Check this out. I am looking at Don's longbows. He has a longbow in stock in your price range.

I second Don Dow's longbows.  I just got mine and it is a great value.  Very nice workmanship.  Give him a call.  I think he usually has a good selection in stock.
