Remember it's supposed to be fun. It's awesome that you had such a cool encounter. If everyone was successful at this hunting might be called food shopping.

Great deer. You done good at home. I think half of the PA wheel bow hunters are here in IL right now. Just met with a young man today from West PA about comming to my program.
If ya think ya might be interested in a college program that deals with hunting contact me. I am always looking for students with drive and you sure have it.

Great job David! Nice buck and a big pat on the back for not giving up! It takes persistence, and lots and lots of Humility to bowhunt. If you don't have Humility the good Lord will teach it to you and it sounds like you got a healthy dose of it and kept on plodding straight through it......awesome story and I admire your sheer grit and bull headed determination!! Bravo!
Yep, your a lifer now for sure! Welcome to the addiction.

Thats Awesome.... I Have A similar story from when I was 17. I got very close to shooting a Huge buck that I hunted for a few years, all that kept me from taking him was a single branch at 5 yards! in the end he walked away. and all I had to show for it was the worst case of poison oak ever that aparently the tree I was in was covered with.
great story and Great buck... Congratulations...
