Got my first shot of the season yesterday evening. Got in my tree about 4:30, it was a beautiful evening, cool and quiet. Not much going on except several squirrels making lots of noise.
At around 5:30 I hear deer in the tall very dry weeds in the small opening I'm setup over. I can hear more than one but only see one, a doe. She takes about fifteen minutes to get out in front of me at approx. 20 yds. My shot hit her good while quartering away left to right. All I could see of the arrow was the white nock sticking out of her chest.
She ran into the woods about forty yards and all was quiet. I waited a half hour and walked to where I heard her crash. There she was jammed against a small tree. My arrow exited the left shoulder about twelve inches.
The Traditional Only carbon arrow tipped with a Zwickey Delta 2-blade did its job.
I did get a couple photos, but I'm having difficulty posting them.
