For my two great uncles who served in WWI, my uncle and father in Korea, my uncle in Vietnam, and all my friends and brothers in who served in Gulf War I along with those now in Gulf War II:     THANK YOU!    :clapper:

We could not enjoy anything we have or do today if you didn't give your all!

"For now he is gone
We know that he’ll be missed
He passed on just not long ago
Up there with Teddy and Chesty
And all the great heroes
Watching and guarding us all!"

Raise them up high
Let’s drink to a good man, I say
For though he has gone,
He will not be forgotten
Drink up…God bless…and good day!"

For those that have fallen: "Thank You" does not seem enough, when I walk with my daughter, we do not dodge bullets, or avoid land mines, scurry for cover with the sounds of planes overhead, we sleep sound at night, with no worries that our enemies will come for us, that rates more than a thank you in my book, I wish I knew the words..

To the parents of the fallen: I will not forget what your son or daughter did, I feel your pain, I remember with every breath, "Thank You" does not seem enough, I wish I knew the words...

To the children of the fallen: Hold your head high, you are our future, what your parent gave will not ever be forgotten, you are forever in our hearts, but "Thank You" is not enough, I wish I knew the words...

To my son... Atta boy.. You did good son!

Prayers to the families of our fallen heroes, especially those most recent who are still living with the pain of losing loved ones in the struggle with the evil that threatens our safety and freedoms. We will never forget them. They are our best and bravest. May GOD Bless you and help ease your pain.

As a Vietnam vet and dog handler I want to thank all of you for myself and Duke my dog. We spent months over there literally eating and sleeping together and I would ask that you also remember all the war dogs that have served for this country.  While it is true they are not human soldiers they saved countless lives over the years and many gave their own life to protect us.  Duke was not allowed to return home to his country and I remember each day with a smile and a tear.

My 30 years total went too fast, and we honor the fallen, but never forget the familes who support those Vets through the thick and thin, the good and bad times-they, too, are worthy of honor.  I pray on this day, the Chaplain never has to visit another household with those dreaded words.  I also pray for the military men and women who have to deliver those words to a family-hardest thing I ever had to do and I wish no one has to do it again.
Never thought about the military dogs and handlers-now there's a group we often forget-and shouldn't.  Dogs are as close to GOD as any creature can be......

As a proud American whose family has grown and prospered under the protection of those who served in the past and who are still serving, I want to express my deepest gratitude.  Especially I wish to honor those who didn't make it home.  Our freedom and way of life were bought and paid for with their ultimate sacrifice.

Let us never forget their sacrifice and let us never take for granted the freedoms we enjoy in this greatest nation on earth because of our veterans.  Thank you all.
