I saw a big buck late last afternoon that could be the one rubbing that tree.  He was about 75 yd away, following three does.  Not pushing, just staying about 20 yds behind them. I had my binocs with me, and was totally awed. I have seen my share of 170-180 inch deer (key word - seen), and he was much larger than those. I felt somewhat stunned.

If I saw something like that I'd wonder about bears!

It is nice to find a rub big enough that you could visualize putting a climber on.
