Special needs youngster needs a little help
« on: November 01, 2010, 11:59:00 AM »
I just posted this with the Florida guys but  thought I'd give it a little more exposure here. A buddy of mine here in TN has a nephew in Lakeworth, Florida who is a 13 year old special needs youngster. He is about to receive his first recurve bow and needs someone to spend a little time with him to get him started. Can anyone in the Lakeworth area spare a little time to get him on the right track? Carl Hammons, the boy's uncle can be contacted at 931-993-4821 or 931-364-7503. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know how I missed this.  I will give Carl a call tomorrow. Get some details and figure out something.

I will keep you all posted.

I will cut and paste this and send it to the tbof distribution list.   Hopefully someone on that list lives close and can help.

Just got off the phone with Carl and got the details.  Will be calling the family tonight or tomorrow and see where things go from there.

Turns out the bow that was sent for the 13 year old is 46@28.

Does anyone have a lighter bow 25-35 lb they would be willing to loan for a while.

If my brothers rehab is ok I might be able to get a 25 but I am looking for options.

Thanks
Les
