Climber stand recommendation please...
« on: November 02, 2010, 08:30:00 PM »
I need a climber that has the bar one can sit on when climbing (and gives me peace of mind vs. the "open" style seats).

I suppose I am like everybody else....I want the lightest, quietest, safest and easiest to use!

What do you recommend please?

FWIW:  I am 6'3" and 190 pounds.

Check out TrophyLine USA, I have been using their tree saddle for about 5 yrs and have done away with my climber. If I had to get another it would be a Lone Wolf or summit , Ole man stands are comfortable also.

I bought a loggy buoy a couple of years ago. I now own 3 of them. One solid stand. I'll also tell you this I hate heights. Hate them. I feel nice and relaxed in my loggy. Also I paid about half as much as some of the more popular brands are going for. As far as weight I'm pushing 250.

If I wanted one with a rail around it, I love my Ol Man's.

Another vote for Summit here.  I have an open model, which you don't want, but their ones with the bar around front are basically the same stand (just with the bar added).  It doen't have any parts you can lose in the field, easy to adjust, and very stable once you're up.  I'm very pleased with my purchase.

I've pretty much tried all of them. For me the tree walker is the only way to go.The deck is long enough that you can face the tree and shoot behind you. From either side of the stand. And it'S VERY light. Thanks,Jim

I have used summit and api and like summit the best of the two. I have heard good things about others too, but have no experience with them. Go Summit!

You need to check out Timbertall.  They are super lite at 13lbs, extremely comfortable and both the top and bottom section can be adjusted for angle with a simple wheel once you reach your desired height.

I'd have to agree with the summit climbers, especially the models with the full seat. Very stable, quiet and easy to climb with.  Good luck.
