You also must take the Black Bear ID Test and pass before you can hunt black bears.
The nice thing about our black bear sping season now, we are not competing with rifle hunters during the first 2 weeks. A lot of black bears in our NW part of Montana. I did not hunt one this year, but saw them and had one come in behind my blind while I was in it.
Next year, I hunt black bear too.

There are several units in central Idaho that offer 2 bear tags at a reduced price for the second tag ($186 for the first then $32 for the second for non-residents). You might want to check out the Fish and Games website at
www.fishandgame.idaho.gov
Good Luck,
Jason
