Thanks for the well wishes everyone. Pretty cool to have a bday in the middle of the rut. Great day to spend in a tree.
Things didn't go quite as planned. Made a bad hit on a buck this AM. Think I hit 1 lung and after a long track he jumped. I'm giving it more time now before going back out, but am not optimistic. Thanks for all the good wishes though!

Well, I think a blew the best birthday present a guy could ask for. The buck we jumped turned out not to be the one I hit. When I went back the blood went the opposite direction from where the deer had been bedded. I followed another 400 yards or so until it got too dark. Still gad blood, but I'm doubting that I got into the chest cavity.

I will try again tomorrow, but he's gone a long ways no without bedding.
