First one this season. Coyote.
« on: November 07, 2010, 12:34:00 AM »
Went calling with the new bow this morning. First stand had one comming in at the ten minute mark was taking its time. Was using fox distres some barks and yips. with some rodent screams. Was taking it for ever to come in. Blew it some kisses and that made it go a little faster. Some more kisses and its running angling to my right. Get to about fourty yards out and starts circling to my left . Gets to thirty and slams on the brakes . It has me. It starts to turn but the arrow is already on its way. It spins and goes down only to pop up running. Sit there a bit. Go to where it was hit no arrow no blood?. Go to the tree where I made the shot go back to the hit. nothing. Start walking back and I find this.

closer look

A few yards more and start finding this.

some more.

This goes for maybe 75-80 yards. Then I find this.

Thinking I jumped him I get on my knees and look for movement under the cherries. Theres a coyote looking at me maybe 70 yards out ,it turns and vanishes behind the trees. Dang,Dang,Dang.Get up saying some other stuff and see this about thirty feet in front of me .Well with out the bow and stuff

First time out with the new girlfreind and she spills blood . Think this bows a keeper. Looks like last years pup young male. About my fourth stand had two come in but hung up at about 70 yards.
You can hop but you can't hide.
If it was not for rabbits I would never get a buck.
Yip yipahooooo yipyipyip.

Glad you told us he was found with out the bow. I was getting a little nervous about going in the wood if the critters were starting to arm themselves.  :scared:    Way to go.   :clapper:

That is just great, I have to do that, I have killed them with a rifle but not a bow, yet.
I have been blessed, beyond measure.
