Echidna
« on: November 07, 2010, 02:54:00 AM »
I love seeing the pictures of your animals which get posted from time to time.
So I thought this might interest some.
Today I had a visitor to my yard who has now decided to reside in one of my sheds.
This is an Echidna (ant-eater) and an Australian native mammal which lays it's egg in its pouch to incubate, our Platypus is the only other Mammal which also lays its egg in its pouch.

please post images no wider than 640!

I understand that if you make tea from them, it's good for treating a cold. Or is that echinacea?

I've seen pictures of them before.

This picture truely captures the uniqueness of this creature. It almost makes wonder if this animal is even real.

Thanks for sharing.
