I HAVE A HERO!

He has been trained to accurately shoot.
His clothes do not include an Armani suit.
His target is not a rim or goal.
His target possesses a living soul.
His objective is not glory or fame.
He does not dance and self-proclaim.
His rewards are not diamonds and gold.
His reward is to simply grow old.
His opponent is full of hate.
His victory will determine our fate.
He will not accept a chance of defeat.
He is a well-disciplined athlete.
His battles are not on ice, turf, or hardwood.
His battles are often not understood.
He does not question his leader's direction.
He follows and uses valor and discretion.
I have a hero!
He is not a quarterback, center, or goalie.
He is a veteran!

THANK YOU HEROS!

Ditto! This weekend while we are at the lake, the beach, or just goofing off because we have the day off, let everyone give thanks to God and to every veteran who has served our country and helped secure our freedoms.

THANKS FROM THIS REDNECK IN ALABAMA!!!

It doesn't matter how or what you shoot, as long as you hit your target.

My Dad was Marine Corp, Pacific 42/43. When I was 16 and wanted to quit school and join the corp, he said, Army, Air Force, Navy, anything but the Marines. By the way, I graduated from high school.

We sleep in comfort while they are on watch for the wolf in the distance, God bless all whom serve our great nation, the stars and stripes and their families.

I cry for those who paid the ultimate price with their lives, I rejoice for those who come back unharmed, and I pray for those who are in harm's way, and those who have been injured.

I didn't see any action during my tour, but was close enough to appreciate those who did.

The Cuban Crisis occured while I was in the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg. We were all packed up and ready to go. I spent some time lying on a parachute packing table while we were assembled and waiting to go. It was a time to think of how it might be, a time to pray, and a time to make peace. It's a brief period before the battle that warriors use to gird themselves for battle. We were fortunate that we were not sent in. Unknown to us, there were tactical nucleur weapons there waiting to be used against American troops. We were lucky, we were all lucky.
