Lone Wolf climbing strap on Summit
«

I really like the climbing strap (or whatever it is called) on the Lone Wolf hand climber, but I'm really partial to my Summit Open Shot stand. Has anyone put this strap or something similar on their Summit stand? Any tips for getting it attached? Thanks...Mike

I haven't used a lone wolf, but the belts look like a totally different design to hold in place. I don't think the summit band lock system would hold the lone wolf band. I wouldn't risk it.

I think he's talking about the strap you sit on while climbing.

No...Lone Wolf made their strap for that purpose. Summit has not done it and if you want to see it in the future call them and bring it up.
If you do decide to try it be careful as it is an unproven method for that stand.

hes talking about the strap you sit on when you climb. it wraps around the seat platform on one side and hooks up to the other side with a carabiner and you sit on the strap when you climb. since i got the strap climbing has been a breeze. (strap goes on the LW hand climber) the only thing is you have to keep an eye on the strap because mine is starting to frey. ive climbed probably 60 or so times with the strap.

Summit does not have this strap...Lone Wolf does. He asking if Summit makes something similar , which they do not, or if anyone has rigged their own. They (Summit) do not wish for anyone to try to rig their own...for obvious reasons!
Not sure if this kind of system will ever happen but I have talked to them (Summit) about it once I seen what Lone Wolf had done.

I am talking about the strap to sit on while climbing. I never seen it in person so I wasn't sure how it attached or if I could just slap it on the Summit.
newell38, are you using the strap on a Summit or Lone Wolf? To be fair I haven't used the Lone Wolf handclimber, but the sit and climb was the most uncomfortable stand I've been in.
Thanks for the replies...Mike

Yes I'm using it on the hand climber by lone wolf. I haven't climbed in the sit in climb but the hand climber is the best climber I have used. Its so easy to use and its light as a feather and rock solid. I love it even more since I got the strap! What a simple but awesome concept!

Thanks, I'll have to run to Cabelas and see if I can sit in the seat. It definitely looks more comfy to me, but haven't tried it...Mike

Anyone able to take some photos of the Lone Wolf set-up? I'd like to rig something on my Summit Open Shot as well.
