No deer lately...here's why!
« on: November 10, 2010, 06:38:00 PM »
This guy was about 5 yards in front of my Double Bull when the camera caught him.  I couldn't figure out why there had been no activity at my wife's stand or my blind from the previous visit. When I downloaded the pics on my computer he had been at all of our stands and no deer sign anywhere for now on our property.

He is not what I wanted to see but I thought it was a good pic.

Around here it is more about the guys who run deer with dogs. I just can't fathom why anyone would want to ruin their venison like that.

I see a bright red spot on the side of that dog.  Time to put him in the dirt and get back to deer hunting.

yeah, I came upon some yote tracks today, following in the tracks of what looks to be a pretty nice buck. Whenever the opportunity arises, we shoot those demons.

too bad, bill. I would say get rid of him because he looks very healthy and he got that way by eatin' venison! just got back from the UP in Michigan and we seen way less deer than in the past and that's cause of the 'yotes! shoot straight!

I have them on my trail cameras in two places I hunt.  Also have a neighbor's shepherd way deep in our farm property at 9:30 at night a couple times.  I would like to do something about that dog, but given the neighbor is a sheriff's deputy I don't think I will get very far just like we didn't get far getting her kid to stop hunting over my dad's garden 50' from our shop when we have a 400' safety zone law.

That's a nice backquiver waiting to happen!

The quest to improve is so focused on a few design aspects & compensating for hunter ineptness as to actually have reduced a bow & arrow’s effectiveness. Nothing better demonstrates this than mech. BHs & speed fixated designs

That's a really good picture.

Sat a hot stand on my buddies property in Michigans Upper Peninsula a few years back. I took a nice doe out of that stand but she was one of only a few deer that I saw out of several days on stand. He called me a few weeks latter and told me they found an occupied bear den about 40 yards from the tree I was in. He was sure that's why all the deer were avoiding that area.
