Nice buck. I have noticed that when you have to drag a deer uphill, the deer gets tired pretty quick and you have to stop and let him rest.   :bigsmyl:

you doned good!!! I know Tennessee deer have potential, but as my friends from there say, culturally and policy wise its a meat hunting state... That boy is a stad for Public land deer!!!!

Congrats and thanks for sharing a good hunt!!!

Actually Slasher..this is an average deer here now.  Years ago it woulda been considered a bruiser. The age structure of TN'S herd ios much, much better than in years past and some really large bucks are more common now.

He is at least 3.5 by his teeth. As long as a deer is at least 3.5 I don't really care what his horns look like.
Thanks for the compliment.

Robert,  I really enjoyed your thread and think the mount looks exceptionally well.  I agree with your assessment of the deer herds management results.  I have seen similar results here in VA.  Seems more and more people are voluntarily letting young deer walk and the increased doe harvest has allowed bucks more feed and space.  Though not popular with the meat hunting crowd, the bucks being tagged now have shown quite a bit of improvement in body weight and antler development.  Anyhow, congrats on a successful hunt.  Steve

mount looks awesome Robert!  But you should have come by the house and got my deer cart!  Could have saved you some hardcore exercise!  You can get it next year!  haha
