I think many deer have heared the call and know it after being spooked by a hunter using it. That is whay I like my mouth call and may stay with it. I can change the air pressure, lenght of call, and tone a lot. Makes it sound like different deer.

this past Tuesday I had a buck that was about 60-70 yards down hill from me and I was watching him move slowly through the hollar I was watching. He stopped right in the middle of the hollar and stoof there for probably 5 minutes or more. I decided to hit the grunt tube once with just a contact grunt and that deer took off like someone had shot him with a gun. I don't know if he had been recently beat up by a bigger buck or someone had given him a bad experience with one.

I've taken 4 bucks using a bleet-n-heat can call. The last two seasons it has not worked. I do not know why.

I have carried a can type bleat call for years along with tube type bleat calls and grunt calls. I have had definite success with the tube bleat calls and the grunt call but have never had a deer come in to the can call. Could never understand why.

Have you ever heard the sound a deer caught in a fence makes or one that has its legs broke and can't get away? You have if you have heard a can call.

Never been a real believer until Fri morning. I turned and had several bucks move my way. Much like all calling though, they come in looking and a little on alert versus just cruising through fat and happy.

Success with the can for me has been about 50/50. sometimes they come running in looking and other times they just ignore it. Someone said earlier if they're locked onto a Doe forget it. I have to agree with this.

I use a can. And it seems to work well. Turned more bucks with the can, than the grunt.

They work better for me during the late season post rut when the competion of isolated does coming in second heat or young ones coming in first time has increased. Like all calling, they come in looking for "you". If I see deer going to cut my scent trail I will try to get them to move around me if possible. Mike

I've had it work a few times. I've shot one buck using it, missed one, and had a few come in that didn't offer shots. As others have said I've never had a buck react negatively to it, mostly just indifferent. That said I don't use it anymore if they are chasing a doe. You will not call the buck off the doe, but you will probably make the doe more alert and as we all know they are not near as stupid as the bucks during the rut.

I had one come into a can last year. Never have had much success with grunt tubes. I have rattled more in than anything else.
