As I sit here with a heating pad draped over my extremely sore shoulder, enjoying the pain that only a new bow can justify, I want to share with you the pleasure of my new Horne Brush Bow.
Received as a gift from my No. 1 Son, Curtis (a.k.a. CK or Littlefeather) Kellar for my recent birthday, it’s custom made by Mark Horne of Horne’s Archery. I had long admired Mark’s Brush Bows and enjoyed it’s great handling characteristics, after having shot Curtis’ many times, but had never really thought I’d be the proud owner of one.
This one was made to Curtis’ order and is 58” with a draw of 47# @ 28” with riser and limbs of Goncalo Alves in various patterns and shades with a slightly matte finish. It’s a real pleasure to shoot; with a smooth draw and release, no hand shock at all, and very quiet. I’m sure looking forward to my next opportunity to get out into the brush with it!
If you’ve never shot the Horne Brush Bow you owe it to yourself to give one a try.
Many Thanks to Curtis from this old POP!!!, and also to Mark Horne for the special attention. What a special birthday surprise!!
