just curious why not reserve it with the right serving material so it fits?

I too file my nocks for a loose fit.  Just be very careful that you don't create a weak spot  with a sharp angle at the throat of the nock.
Breaking a nock at full draw can be as bad as having the arrow fall off.

Doubt you;ll hurt the bow unless your nocks break while shooting.
