Have you looked at Big Jim's website? Lots of great bow pics there, many of which are owned by TGers. Before too long, maybe there will be a picture of my Thunderchild on there, too.

A lot of sweet looking bows there! He's next in line for my order!  :p
I'm thinking all B&W Ebony Thunderchild^^
I know they're sort of "common" but, my God, they're lovely!

I want to put up some pics of one I got a few weeks ago, but PhotoBucket is not working. She's a beauty too. I'll do it when PB is working.

Black and White ebony Rules! well, I guess so does, walnut burl, and macassar, cocobolo, bocote, Oh man I have some nice myrtle burl, redwood burl, you aught to see this new black myrtle I got in. Wow! course there's always waterfall bubbinga, and killer ziricote. Then there's always osage, purple heart, Tulip, splated sycamore, birdseye maple,
gaboon, snake wood, am I leaving anything out? I'm shure there are another 20 or more species in the shop. I am an addict! I just keep buying wood. It has replaced my bowaholism sorta.

have fun, BigJim

I just got back on the list for a 2pc ThunderChild. I'd like to see that Black Myrtle. That Snakewood in the 3pc Jim built awhile back still haunts my dreams too. So many wonderful woods, how to choose? Lol!

Here's the only pics I have of my new to me ThunderChild. She's got Tiger Myrtle Limbs with a Ziricote Riser. The limb core, according to Big Jim, is "Magic". She's 56" and 52@28. I'm really loving the Tiger Myrtle, it's gorgeous wood, and goes perfectly with the Ziricote. A true work of art. I loved this bow from the first shot. The forward riser gives her a level of pointabitlty that's just awesome. She's fast, smooth, shock free of course, and quiet as a Mouse Fart. I thought my Pronghorn was quiet, but this bow is possibly even quieter. And I shoot 3 under so some bows just don't get as quiet as I'd like for me. Now I begin the "agony" of choosing the woods for my 2pc. Lol! Having this baby to play with, plus my 2pc Buffalo will make the wait at least bearable.

Sorry fellas, I don't make the woods, just bring them too ya. Centaur, that wasn't nice of  you to introduce me to a new wood! especially one sold by the pound!! I guess pay backs can be hell.
The waiting period hasn't changed by a lot. Infact it has probably gotten more accurate. I have chose to forgo the Kalamazoo expo this year due to that fact that I don't own an instock bow and would have to build quite a few bows to keep up with the kustoms and still have some for Kzoo. I do get lots of calls still, but have a feeling that many are waiting till after Christmass.

Critter69- Best thing I can tell you to do is give me a call and we can discuss what may interest you so I can narrow it down. The problem with pictures of instock wood is being able to invision what it will look like on a bow. Also when they are in lumber form, they just don't give true detail. Anytime I purchase wood, I'm looking for something that makes me say WOW. If I find it, I purchase far enough ahead (if I can) to make it to the next time I find Wow for the same species. Certain species are just very nice and will never offer wow, but subtle beauty. Maybe I should take up fishing again, it would be much cheaper.

Its just not the woods, its the talent to expose them in their most beautiful configuration and even above that is the true workmanship to bring everything together .In all sinserity not many can do it as good as the little Fella.By talking to Jim on the phone he has so many ideas to help you, you will be even more confused than before you phoned !LOL

The hardest part about ordering one of Jim's bows is picking the wood!  I ended up going with gray actionwood for my Thunder Child because I couldn't make up my mind on a wood combo.  Now I gotta see this black myrtle cause I'm gonna be getting back on the waiting list for bow #3 from Jim.
Chasing my kids and my degree for now but come next fall the critters better look out.  ;)
