Trip to Black Widow (pics)
« on: November 18, 2010, 10:11:00 PM »
I made a big mistake!  I took the family to Black Widow in Nixa Missouri on our way back from Branson (had some trout fishing to do).  Now all I need is $1300, and my problem can go away!  Any takers?    :help:

Vernon gave us a tour-- very nice people in the shop.  Even my wife and mother enjoyed seeing the process and equipment.
Don't get me wrong, I love my Fox High Sierra, but another Bocote beauty to take to the woods doesn't sound like such a bad idea!    :)

Yep. Considering taking my Bocote PSAX to the woods tomorrow......one of the prettiest Widows I've owned, in fact. Missed the clinic in May due to a back injury.

Gorgeous limbs.

Bronz:  Took the tour myself a few years ago, cost my my buddy 2 bows, I got out light, only bought one.  Really good people run that place, everyone needs to see it once.  RW

Mike Pyeatt at Rosewood Archery provides the wood for Black Widow (as well as others) and has some of the best looking stuff around. If you are ordering a custom bow I highly suggest you give Mike a call. I made the call to Mike on my last custom order and was highly satisfied with his wood. He will send wood to any bowyer. Beautiful bows start with beautiful woods.

great place to visit..  I went there in May.  When I introduced my self one of the guys said,  "I know you  you fax in all  your bow orders"  Fortunately my wonderful wife missed it, or bless her heart just let it slide.

Everytime I go to that place, it seems there is another bow hanging on my bow rack at home.   Note to self - "Do not stop in Nixa next time you go to Table Rock".    I very seldom listen to my own advice.   Good people and great bows.

That is cool. I was close to there this summer but was not able to go. They do make some pretty sweet bows too.

I visited in 2007 and had a great time meeting Toby, John and Vernon.  Roger was away at a show and had most of the display bows with him.

So THAT'S what that front entry room is supposed to look like!  Wow!

Lord willing, one day we'll stop there again.

"I would love to go there, but my wife would kill me!"

Business strategy: Man makes fabulous custom bows which are costly and might lead to marital discord. Wife makes beautiful custom jewelry to order, which can be delivered with the new bow.

Problem solved.
