Here’s my first takedown I picked up recently.  It’s an A riser with #1 limbs, with original box and paperwork.  It was originally purchased in October 73

That's a keeper!!!

The "A" handle, with #1 limbs, is my favorite!!  :archer:

Thanks…thinking that I will probably refinish the riser because the original flocked finish is basically falling off.

Nice find. Enjoy!
It's really simple. Just don't take those borderline shots. Tomorrow is another day.

Haha…I think I’m gonna keep it.  I shot it this weekend and it was sweet.

Well, I stripped the old flocked finish off this weekend…I’m glad I did because there was some corrosion beginning under what was left of it.  Used an etching primer (the kind for aluminum) and painted it with some black wrinkle paint…came out pretty good and with a nice texture similar to original.

A question, how much do these bows stack at long draw length(31.5”)?  The few bears that I have shot ( not takedowns). Stacked a good amount.

One of the great things about the Bear TD is the ability to combine limbs and risers to make a recurve from 56" (A riser with #1 limbs) to 64" (the B riser with #3 limbs) --- And, of course you can go even longer with the target-style C riser.

Now that Bear has reintroduced the #2 limbs, it is possible to go from 56" to 64" in 2-inch increments using just the A and B risers.

While I would not recommend a 56" combination for someone with a draw length as long as yours, I believe that you would find any combination over 60" to be pretty comfortable.

Just my 2 cents worth on the subject.

It seems to draw pretty smoothly to me…my draw is only 28”.  I did try 3 under and it didn’t seem as smooth.

I've been shooting split-finger since I could walk. I've played around with 3under for the last 15yrs or so...

Both of my Bear T/Ds seem very noisy shooting 3under....  :dunno:
