Dan, personal fit thing. The workmanship is flawless. It just doesn't feel right compared to all my other recurves. I think it is a good grip for a lot of people. It would be good for not torquing a bow and shooting with an open hand  that's for sure.

I'd like to be one of you guys that loves his Bear takedown, and I just might soon be.   ;)
Does anyone know the actual physical weights of the dymondwood and bubinga risers?

Gary - Unless my eyes deceive me, it appears that your "B" riser serial number has a "B-0" prior to the rest of the number.

If it does, according to BowDoc, that identifies it as a very early handle made in 1969.

It's official I will be taking my New red Stripe on the Fall Caribou hunt this year in Northern Quebec. I can't wait.

Anyone in SE Wisconsin have the new Risers? I',m going to be there in a month and would like to see one. Can't even find a dealer up here.
It's really simple. Just don't take those borderline shots. Tomorrow is another day.

Quiver options are a bit limited.  for  VPA broadheads the selection is even smaller.  I like a rigid quiver but will probably put a Great Northern on mine.

Got my bubinga  A and B risers from Big Jims very nice the A is pretty close to my type 2 A the B is little slimmer in the grip area. Waiting for the limbs.Looking forward to shooting the new limbs.

I just put my down payment and started layaway on a new red stripe with the A riser.  Shot both the A and the B.... the B did feel a bit smoother, but just a bit and I really went wanting the ability for the compactness of the A, so that's what I went with!!!  Now I can't wait til it's mine - get to go shoot it at the shop anytime I want though... that will help.

BTW, anybody in the Little Rock area that hasn't been to Archer's Advantage needs to go check out their traditional selection and talk to Jerrel... great guy to do business with!  Tell him I sent you and maybe I'll get my bow earlier!   ;)

I will repeat Blueridge's question because I'm interested as well... What bolt-on quivers are you guys using?

Thanks!

I just bought mine in the Black Dymondwood in the "B" riser with  number one limbs. The limbs are 50# and they shoot a 2016 very good. The bow is quiet and the riser is the same width as the Bubinga. Will try my best to add a Deer and maybe a Bear if I draw a tag for Bear.

Well, I pulled the trigger yesterday and ordered one of the bubinga bows from Big Jim. I guess I'll let ya'll know after shooting it for a month or so whether I love my Bear Takedown.

For bolt-on quivers, I really like the Bighorn Quiver. The Bighorn is the same design as what was used by G. Fred Asbell's Bighorn bow company in the 1980s. It is sturdy, adjustable, and tough.

I have one on my 2006 wood A riser. I also have a greenstripe riser with a factory installed bolt insert where the coin would normally be placed. Since there are two bolt inserts on that riser, I have a Bighorn quiver on that too.

The Bighorn quivers are made and sold by Cutting Edge Products.
I'll see if I might have saved the contact information for them and get it posted on this thread.
