Thought I'd show my cure for the small bubinga grip. A beaver tail wrap by Big Jim.

Bought some Schafer limbs from OldSkoolArcher here in the Im always broke cause I buy so much stuff in the TradGang classifieds.I have done many deals with Nick and as always straight up guy great to deal with. The Schafer limbs made my B-Risers a 64in bow and are 51# @30 , I had them a few days and havent even had a string on them for 24 hours and they made a kill.I put them on a I think a early 2000 riser and like I say they sure look and shoot nice , Im shooting a 31in GoldTip 75/95 with three
5 1/2in feathers they come in at 590gr ( going to order some 100 brass inserts and see what 690gr shoots like ) this may be my new elk set-up.....

Blackstick, I may have to do that to my new a riser. I hate to sell it so soon and that may be a good way to make it work.

Sam, nice work on the pig. Not a bad way to break in a bow at all. Sure beats shooting bails.

WOW Sam. Now that didn't take long!!! That is awesome. I was going to PM you and ask you how you liked them but I guess your picture just answered that question! Congrats.

Also, Please post some pictures of your handle. If it doesn't have a stripe it is a '97 or '98. (I can't remember exactly). To the best of my knowledge, the all blonde no-striper was only made one year.

As a soon to be new owner of an Type 1 A-Riser I was really happy to see this thread is still alive and well.
As weird as it may seem to some I feel lucky and truly honored to get the chance to have such a piece of Bear archery history.
I am more excited about shooting and hunting with this bow than any of the custom bows I have had built for me over the years!

Thanks to all of you who have taken the time to post about your experiences with these bows and especially to those of you who have taken the time to email me in regards to the questions I've had!

Sam - you are a real inspiration to me - having seen all the animals you have taken with your Bear Takedowns.

I feel like I've joined a brotherhood of great people who feel the same way I do about Papa Bear's legacy.

I look forward to adding to this thread in the future!

finished up putting some cottonmouth skins on my red stripe a few weeks ago, but just got around to shooting some pics. I love how it turned out.... think the colors are perfect! it was my first time to put skins on... process was really pretty simple. it's just really hard to take that first stroke with the sandpaper to those expensive limbs. anyway... i love it! I can't wait to go hunting this fall!!!

Playing around and built a box for the A

then built one for the B

I enjoy shooting these, have traded and sold alot of other toys to enjoy these. They all shoot about the same for me and a go to the woods. Thanks
