There ought to be some photos of the new two tone risers showing up on this thread.  Mine hasn't arrived yet.

As a Bear TD man, I love this thread. I recently picked up a green stripe that had spent its life in the stock room of a sporting goods store. It is new, though I have shot it. My current hunting bow is a Black and Tan early 2000s A riser with 52 pound Rise Oak limbs and an SBD 6-strand ultra string. Very impressive performance. You got to love those Bear TDs.

I've got a new two tone A riser on the way from Big Jim's.  I've got a set of number one 52# limbs waiting for the riser's arrival and then I'll put it through the paces. While I've shot many over the years, both A and B in wood and magnesium configurations, this will be my first of my own.  The two tone riser put me over the hump in finally pulling the trigger.

The 2014's are gorgeous - you won't be disappointed! I lucked out and stumbled upon a "used" one. Still waiting for my B handle that I ordered though.

stick33, beautiful bow. I have a 2011 Dymond Wood B riser, and I'm ordering a new Two-tone B next week.

Agreed.  Am I seeing things correctly.  Looks like the risers Bear was making the past few years were Type IIs.  Stick, yours looks more like a Type I.

I agree with you, I have wanted one for a long time.  Finally ordered one a few weeks ago.  Red Stripe.  Should be in anytime now.  Can't wait!

I went to the Professional Bowhunters Society banquet in Cincinnati, awesome time by the way.
I carried one of my new Bear take down risers out there and had it signed by some of the guys who have
been carrying the traditional bowhunting torch for the last 50 years. Sadly, some of these guys are now
in their 70's and I fear they won't have many seasons left in them.

A Bear bow in and of itself has some "special mojo". This one is now very special, at least to me.....

I finally got some quality range time with my new two-tone A handle set up as a 56" bow last night. Settled in at 8 1/8" brace and now it's time for Bow Hush and Hush Puppies before the final tune. It's spitting out some Axis 600's with 220 grains up front like nobody's business.

I have wanted a Bear TD for years but never got one. At my age I figured if I ever was going to have one the time is now! I recently purchased a new two toned riser TD and just love this bow!  I have actually added three Bears to my rack in the past year!     I normally am a longbow guy who loves the Hill style bows, but Bear is getting me back into the recurves once again.  I now own a Super Kodiak in the black glass model, a 59 Kodiak remake, and the TD.

Hitmantoto, thanks for your picture of the two toned riser with the bubinga wedge limbs.  I had wondered how they would look on the two toned riser--very attractive!

David, we're walking the same path. I've acquired a 1955, 1957, 1958 and 1959 Kodiak along with my 2014 2tone A riser in the last year.  I too had wanted a take-down wood riser for years and when the two tone came out I couldn't resist. I still love my longbows, but the Bears are getting a lot of range time.

I've been checking out the Bears lately myself.  I want a new takedown and since I'm loving the Super Kodiak so much I'm thinking this is the direction I'm going to go.  There is certainly something classy and nostalgic about a Bear t/d.

Some of you guys have some drop dead gorgeous bows.

I want the two tone real bad.  Will have to do some horse(bow) trading to get it done though.

This is a question for you Bear Takedown gurus, I was wondering if an "A" handle with #3 limbs felt smoother than say "B" handle with #1 limbs. Those of you who have shot them both tell me what you think. I have currently ordered a Bear takedown from Big Jim ("A" handle, #3 limbs) I am just waiting for the riser to come in. But looking at this forum the "Bear Takedown Bug" is creeping upon me!!!

Just got a 2 toned 2014 riser, that I glossed out to match the Rose Oak limbs I bought it for. Pretty impressed with the riser. I like the weighty feel compared to my green stripe. The green stripe feels a little more svelte and has a narrower throat and palm swell. I shoot the old riser better but the newer grip is growing on me. Jury's still out but there is always sandpaper ;^)
