Just got a 2 toned 2014 riser, that I glossed out to match the Rose Oak limbs I bought it for. Pretty impressed with the riser. I like the weighty feel compared to my green stripe. The green stripe feels a little more svelte and has a narrower throat and palm swell. I shoot the old riser better but the newer grip is growing on me. Jury's still out but there is always sandpaper ;^)

Kenny,
As far as being smooth is concerned, in my extensive experiments shooting both the A riser with #3 limbs and the B riser with #1 limbs -with both set up at the same draw weight-I don't perceive any real difference in smoothness. However, the added weight of the B riser tends to keep my bow arm steady and reduce any tendency for torque. To me the big differences in the A and B risers is the ability of the A to become a 56" bow with #1 limbs. That versatility could be an important factor. Likewise, the ability of the B to make a long recurve with #3 limbs might be an important factor for guys with a very long draw. Otherwise, the feel of the A grip versus the B grip could be a deciding factor.
For me, owning a few of each has been the best way to go. My current favorite set up is an A wood riser with #3 Rise Oak limbs. It feels great and shoots beautifully.

I wish I hadn't seen or read this thread. You guys are killing me.

I'm try to whittle things down, not buy more but I definitely want to try one.

What's a good start?

Found one in my small town the other day. 82-83 green stripe w/#1 limbs. Sweet shooter, but I can't shoot the 55lb limbs as much as I'd like.

OK, I found a set of #2 RER custom limbs made for Bear Take-downs and have to say what a great find. These are just like butter at my 28.5-29.0 inch draw with this 58" bow configuration. They shoot a 575 grain arrow (probably around 42# at my draw) very efficiently.

Next up some Rose Oak limbs in #3 if they make them!   [/IMG]

Got one two-toned ordered from The Footed Shaft in August.  B-handle 55 lb. #1 limbs.  Hope it gets here this fall to put in some timber time.  Love the looks of the T/D.

I am casually looking for a nice two-tone B riser from the early 2000s -- like the ones Bear was making for 3-Rivers. I like the low-cut shelf of the risers from that era.

Don't need the limbs, but would take some that match the riser and are either 40# or 45# at 28"…. either #1 or #3 limbs.

I sure don't need another riser, but it doesn't hurt to look around, and I am not in any rush.

Beautiful bucks, slayer1.

I was up to the hunting grounds last weekend. Snapped a few pics of my hunting rig. No doubt the most accurate bow (in my hands) that I've ever shot. Quiet too.

TTT, For some more "drooling"!!!!!

After 40 years... I have decided that my next bow, will be a new Bear T/D!!!!!

It will probly be my last bow. Thinking Bubinga, "A" handle, with #1 limbs. (possibly #3,jury is still out) 40#-45# (hey,I'm not getting any younger!)

Question...? Lacking finding an original single springarm quiver... Which side-mount quiver do you "experianced" Bear T/D guys recommend??? The Bear side-mount? Or, the Great Northern? I've seen your pictures, and they both look GREAT!!!
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

There is a fine line between Hunting, & Sitting there looking Stupid...

May The Great Spirit Guide Your Arrows..... Happy Hunting!!!
