I have 2 pair of #3 Rose Oak Bear limbs, and I really like them. I also have 2 sets of #1 Bear limbs, and they shoot just fine. The #3's are smoother, but they're also longer, so I expected that. I have no experience with Border limbs.

I do have a pair of #3 Rose oak limbs as well. It may be me but I feel they perform as well as a set of Bear's #3 that are five pounds heavier.
One reason I asked question is I am coming to a cross roads. I know I will need to reduce pull weight in a few years. I have this dream of finding a set of limbs that will keep up with what I have. I would like to drop down to about 50#. I have tried 45# and their OK to 25 yards but I just can not get the longer ranges I like to shoot.

I just experienced shooting the new bear TD bows and those are seriously cool risers..... I've got an itch to build some Static tip limbs that will fit those risers in the future.

If there is anyone interested in having a set of smokin limbs built that could send me a riser, i'd be up for it.... I would build the same SS design i'm building in ILF format now.

Please send me an email if this is something that interests you.... I've had several requests so far.

Hmmmmm. I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm
not sure that what you heard is what I actually meant!

I am so close to pulling the trigger on one of these Bear T/D bows. I have the cash but I would love to shoot one first.

I think one of these will compliment my 59 Kodiak and Super Grizzly.

I want one badly too. I need to spend this money quickly before my wife finds it. I read all fifty pages and like the looks of that slimmer babinga A riser or the two tone one.

I ordered an A two-tone from Big Jim last evening. He just got a few in. With the discount and free shipping it was too good to pass up.  Going to put an old set of red tip 50# limbs on it and see how it does.

I can't believe this thread I started so long ago is still going.  I think it's AWESOME!!  Maybe we can catch the Hill Bow thread someday...hehe

Anyway, I've never held a Bear TD but have wanted one for a very long time, over 15 years I suspect.  It was the first TRAD bow I wanted when I picked up a Bear Archery catalog in a tiny bow shop in my home town.  I saw that rosewood and striped riser and I instantly wanted one.  I thought it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.  I still think it's one of the prettiest bows ever made.  That's the one I would love to have, but I think it is priced out of my range.

Right now I have a Morrison 17 inch aluminum riser that I swapped around and paid boot to get several months ago.  It's pretty much mint.  It's an ILF setup and I have a set of KAP carbon/wood limbs on it.  I don't know exactly what I could get out of it if I sold it, but I would suspect it would be maybe $425 to $475 in that range.  That's just a wild guess of course.
I am thinking about selling it in a couple months when I have my "fun money" built back up and using it, plus some of my own money to get me an "A" handle for a bow in the 45 to 50 pound range.

Then I wouldn't have to want for any other bows for a while.  I would have a Bear TD, a Bear 1971 Grizzly and my new Hill style bow.  Pretty much all the bases are covered in that scenario.

Lets see more pics.

Thanks all for keeping the info flowing in this thread.  I really enjoy reading about all of your bows and thoughts on them.

Let me know when your fun money is ready. I believe I might be able to set you up with a good A-mag riser and a set of limbs in your weight range, and stay within a reasonable budget too. It's the least a guy can do in exchange for you starting this cool thread.

The riser woods are Pau Rosa and Wenge.
The limbs are #3's with maple cores and Canarywood veneers. The overlays are Macassar Ebony. The latches and yolks are brushed finished and black nickel plated. The sockets have been coated with Cerakote in a color that I mixed. The draw weight is 59 pounds at 26 inches.
