My latest addition to my collection a B mag riser. Fitted it with #3 limbs 42lbs. Pretty sweet shooter.

Certainly a lot of history in them. My 10yo son shot a friends bear takedown when they visited us recently. He had an A riser with #1 limbs for 30#@28" for his wife. My son shot it and was shooting great with it. Now I want to get one for him with the same specs. It would be handy for me too as a backup bow if I got some heavier limbs to go with it.

wood or mag A riser wouldn't matter.

I've settled on these two. I shoot the mag risers better. Sold my B wood riser. I like the looks of the wood and the fact that it's not as cold in winter, but I just shoot these best.

RVTB How do you like the Eichler edition? I'm thinking about buying one but not to sure if I'd like that type of handle. I bought the A mag last year and really like that however I might need to switch to lefty and they don't offer the mag in a left hand. So that new handle could be my option.

Is it possible to slide a Bear grip on the Eichler riser is you choose to do so?

I don't have an Eichler riser, but I've read that it's not compatible with the older Bear rubber or plastic grips. I suppose one could modify a grip to fit, or make one's own. That's the big complaint I've heard about the riser so far. Most would like it to have some sort of replaceable grip.

Just curious is it true that the new Bear bows are suffering from serious quality control? I've been considering getting one for a while now but it's a lot of money to spend if the quality isn't there

The only QC issue I’ve personally seen and most seen online is the new production of their standard Grizzly recurve. I’ve yet to see any QC gripes or issues with their Custom Kodiak takedowns.

Picked up my first B riser last month, Bubinga 50th anniversary model. Took me some time getting accustomed to the weight of the bow and 64” length. I’m really liking it, just taking some time to mesh with it.

I shot the new Eichler riser at Kalamazoo a few weeks ago, and I gota say I am totally impressed. Just when I thought my Bear T/D collection was complete, here we go again!

I’ve already seen several people who recently bought em trying to sell em. Same as I did with the new A Mag riser I had. I’m a big fan of the 50th anniversary models. Got the A 56” for hunting and B 64” for target shooting.

I build after market limbs for these things all the time, and the limb alignment from one riser to the next is sure different. More so in the wood risers than the mags, but even those are a wee bit different.

I have to have my customers send their risers to me so i can insure the alignment is right before shaping the limb profile... The older ones are a wee bit different to though... Kirk

Due to some health issues, I am considering purchasing a b mag riser and long limbs. I want about 45@ 31.5”. Would I need 35 lb limbs or something else?

If you went with 35# #3 limbs, that’ll put you around 39# at 31.5. I’d go with a set of anniversary limbs, 40#, should get you around 44#.
Jerry at stickbowsupplies or Noble Sinclair are both Bear dealers and great to deal with.
