That's a great buck Dale!  Proof once again that deer are in serious trouble when they get too close to you.
Thanks for the story a,d puics Knbobby. Northern WI is a special kind of place. Not always a lot of deer, but that just means every one taken is well earned. And a few do get a chance to grow up!

Thanks for the compliments. That IS a Black Widow in Dale's hand. He's got a bunch of them and they've been very good to him. Honestly, he was hunting with his DAS because he's got a camera attachment for it. Toward the end of my week there, I told Dale it was time to haul his Widow back out and get serious...it's worked for him in the past. Kind of eerie the way it happens for him

Great job on the pictorial story Gary. I just knew that donut picture was going to come back to haunt me. Well if the whole truth would be known... Gary found out I was going to be hunting with the Widow on Saturday and he jumped ship sometime during the middle of the night so he wouldn't have to drag the bugger out. I don't dare help him with the dragging duties, you know, with my bad back and all! As usual we had a great time in the rutting woods. After spending more than 60 hours in a treestand over the course of the week it takes a while to get healed up from "bleacher butt". The saddest time of the year is closing up deer camp for another year. However, we're both starting to pack for Wyoming next September. Geez, that's a long way off.
