MY NEW WILD HORSE CREEK BOW
« on: November 21, 2010, 09:54:00 PM »
This is my new wild horse creek bow made by mike dunnaway in perry, ks. its a kestrel thats 54" long , 49# @ 28" and is made of bubbinga, coccobolo, black locust, black maquarta, and the grip is beaver tail leather.  The bow shoots great, really smooth and no stacking.  im waiting on my new arrows being built by mike horton in winchester, ks at THE NOCKING POINT.

PLEASE, post images no wider than 640!

If you want a new custom bow MIKE at WILD HORSE CREEK BOWS is the place to go!!!

Cool bow but the rest is on the wrong side. Looks like a real shooter.

Mike is a great guy and does make some nice bows.  One of the lightest smoothest pulling bows around.  Good luck to you.

I have a Kestrel (54", 43#@28) that I bought from another member a few months back. It has a Wenge riser section, black locust cores and Tamo Ash Veneers--it is a beauty. Beavertail grip. It is quiet, quick and light, and shoots where I'm looking. I have a small concern--I am used to Widows and other bows with heavier riser sections so this bow feels almost delicate to me-- I'm wondering if I have to baby it a bit? Any opinions?

i know a few local guys that prefer wild horse bows over black widow any day and have been shooting there wild horse bows for years and years with no problem. i would say the bow is built to hunt and shoot with. its a tool , sure i try to keep from giving it any abuse since it is just wood but by no means is it less rugin than a widow. your bow sounds great i like the light poundage bows. theres no need for all that poundage unless its dangerous game or anything thats just huge compared to a white tail.
