Booner with a stone point!
« on: November 21, 2010, 11:34:00 PM »
After taking his free-ranging bison last winter on the Lakota Sioux Reservation in South Dakota with his longbow and stone point, Mark Mitten ("Carcass") has done it again. This weekend he tagged an honest B&C 6x5 whitetail with his Great Northern longbow using a stone point on an 800 grain arrow. Complete pass through liver hit. I can't say as I've ever heard of a B&C class buck taken in modern times with a stone arrowhead. Gross 181", net 172". We're putting the finishing touches on the sequel to our Primal Dreams DVD. We'll try to squeeze it in there. I have to say something. Mark's bison hunt that will be a part of our new DVD is, in my opinion, the finest bowhunting footage I have ever seen. It is absolutely breath-taking. That eight minute segment alone is "worth the price of admission"! Someone else might have to post photos. I'm going hunting!

It's good to see someone doing what a lot of us would like to do. I have primitive arrows that I made up to use as well as a primitive bow. Just can't seem to get out there this year. Age seems to be creeping up on me.

Way to go Mark! Thanks Gene for reporting it. Inspiration for all of us.    :archer2:
