Black Bear Pic's
« on: May 29, 2007, 04:38:00 PM »
Hi tradganger's,just thought I would post a picture of the Bear I shot Saturday night. This one is a first for me,because I ended up shooting him on the ground and not out of my stand.I had to leave my stand a bit early that evening,so at about 8pm. I let my gear down out of my stand and then climbed out. When I got on the ground I started to untie my stuff when I heard a noise behind me towards my bait.I turned and was suprised to see aI bear coming towards my bait. But instead of stopping at the barrel to feed he continued towards me.I quickly nocked an arrow and got ready for a shot.He stopped about 8yds. away and sized me up.Meanwhile to my amazement another bear was coming in,but this one was much larger. As the smaller bear continued to watch me the larger walked in to about 15yds. and stopping broadside.I decide to shoot,so I drew and released. The arrow struck him right where I was aiming. With all the commotion the smaller bear ran about 10yds. and stopped while one I shot only went 30yds. and expired.I use a homemade longbow 62" ntn. 55# @28",a Beman carbon shaft with a Zwickey broadhead to get a total passthought on this bear.I hope you guy,s enjoy the pic. and story, bye for now,Oldway.

And to think, Saturday evening I was mowing my lawn.

I`ve been around bears before, and I know how they make your heart pound. I bet yours was just a hammering. The way only a hunter knows!

I enjoyed the story alright. Thanks.

On the ground, with two bears, and a homemade bow,?!!!!?!!. Only a hunter knows that feeling.

Many happy returns to you.
