daily double/ nice morning
« on: November 28, 2010, 01:18:00 PM »
Hadn't been out in a while. I decided to take my Dakota longbow I got from Rick Welch a while back. First time hunting with it. It shoot ok but at 66" , a bit cumbersome to me in a tree stand. I'll stick to my shorter recurve from now on in the tree. Not to say the longbow is not effective though. I shot both of these does before 7:30 am and saw a total of 13 deer. 6 bucks, just no shooters. Good hunting. Don

Right you are Marty. I like alot of brush around me in the tree and that stick is way too long.

Bow was 47@ 28. Same arrows I always shoot. axis 500's, full lenght with abowyer brownbear heads. total weight is around 550gns. one shot 12yds, the other 27steps from the tree. both pass thoughs. neither deer made it 50yards. Man I love light bows and scary sharp broadheads. Don
