“instinctive archery” is more like playing the violin. Without practice you may remember the mechanics, but you will not be a virtuoso.

Split finger, will be shooting my first tournament this weekend. Hopefully it will be the first of many.

It doesn't matter how or what you shoot, as long as you hit your target.

I shoot about 5 to 7 3-d animal or field rounds a year. I switched to split finger.

I like shooting 3D's whenever I get a chance. It's great getting out with all my friends. I also shoot split finger.

Been shooting tournaments for about 35 years, probably 20 or more a year.  Before 3-D, we shot broadheads through cardboard animal silhouetes.  Always shot split finger.

You know my answer,on both.
Target archery is seeing how far away you can get and still hit the bull's eye. Bowhunting is seeing how close you can get and never miss your mark.

that seems strange that a tournament would say no three under, why must we discriminate??

Spoon,That is to stop people from string walking. Most have found a compromise though, and have rules stateing, that one finger must be in contact, with nock,at all times of the draw and release.

But Traxx (big head) really string walking is like gap shooting, the only differnce is that you find the gap on your string and not at the point of your arrow. I see not difference with Instinctive, Gap, Splite vision, Point on, String walking, etc, all require one to master their Art/Style of shooting.
So like I said/asked: Why must be discriminate??
