This year has been a blast deer hunting. I have not been able to hunt much with family and work.
I have hunted hard the last three years trying to kill this one doe. She has been dry all three years and very smart. She looked like a donkey walking thru the woods. I would move my stands and she would know it. Walking just out of range.
I have passed up alot of deer waiting for a chance at her...no luck.
I did not see her at all lat year. So this year I was on go. I shot over a doe in early bow season. Shot over a buck and squirell this past sunday. Boy was I getting frustrated.
A heavy rain and strong winds moved thru last night. I felt deer would be feeding this afternoon. I got on stand early. The wind was howling and cool. Right before dark two fawns and two does start feed by. As a doe got into a opening, I took a deep breath and keeped saying PICK A SPOT. The pink fletched arrow was on its way. The shot looked good. Waited thirty minutes and went home to get my son. He pick up the blood trail and helped me find her.
A great evening.
