I would have hated checking that camera in the woods and hearing a stick crack behind me.........

Imagine sitting in a ground blind waiting for daylight, hearing a stick pop and seeing him when daylight came.

That's a good sized brown bear.  Where I used to moose hunt in Southeast Alaska, there is a healthy population of both black and brown bears.  The blacks would take off when a brown bear was around, but I have watched them feed on salmon out of the same stream, within 50 yards of each other.

That's probably a 55 gallon drum.  Most folks don't have a clue how big a large male brown bear can get.  I have witnessed one pick up a freshly shot Roosevelt elk bull and walk off with it like it was a fox with a rabbit.

I've also been within a few yards of one that big on Admiralty Island. I was deer hunting and had my .280 Remington with me. The guy I was with literally messed on himself. After that encounter, I started deer hunting with a .375 H&H.

Magnificent creatures.
