Love it!

If that's a 55 gal barrel, it should be about 33-34 inches tall.  Assuming it's not sitting in a hole that would make the bear about eight, eight and a half feet tall in the picture where he's all stretched out.

Ain't No Freaking Way! Nope, not now not ever will I go bear hunting......and that's why right there! Jiminy Christmas that's One Huge Beast!  :scared:

I'm from Missouri and if I Ever saw an animal like that coming toward me while I was out hunting, I'd be curled up in the fetal position whimpering like a little girl  :help:    :(  ......Wow that gives me cold chills just looking at the pic!

I guess you all up North and out West are just used to that kind of thing since you grew up there Huh?
How do you even relax enough to hunt just knowing that animals like that are out there?
I'd be as nervous as a cat the whole time and be eating Rolaids by the handfuls just to keep my stomach from knotting up.

The biggest animal I have to contend with where I hunt is a cow, and they run from me!

Since I don't eat bear I don't figure I'd hunt it, but knowing there're still areas we can go where an animal like that lives sure does make my day!  Man, what a beast!  Thanks for the pics,

That is MR. GRIZ for sure. Alaskan browns are monsters. Makes our black bears look like woodchucks.

Ol' Dan Quillian shot one that squared 8 1/2 feet at 15 yards. At the time, he had an open wound on the bottom of one of his feet that wouldn't heal due to diabetes and hospital staff infection. He couldn't have run if he had to. It didn't see him, so he lived to hunt another day.

Not me, brother! A man who shoots one of those beasts at close range with an arrow, even with a gun for backup, is a BRAVE soul.

"MR. GRIZ" posted by centaur is the best description of him I have heard yet.

How cool is that! when in there you no very well that you could be on the opposite end of the predator/prey episode we all live for.

You should post a pic of yourself with your back against the tree like the bear just so people can see how big he is compaired to us measley humans.

Here is one I had on my bait this year. The yellow chain that is wrapped around the tree is approximately 6 feet off the ground.

Here he is sitting down palming a 16 gallon keg

CRAP,   :scared:   I'd give my right n-t and my Left leg to have a chance at that BEAST from a 10 foot platform. What a rush that would be!! And if things went wrong wouldn't need them anyway.       Thanks for sharing. Bears turn me on! Not as much as a good bow or my wife. But close.

I'm plenty dumb enough to hunt one of those monsters, but I lack the cash to do it. They are just absolutely the most awesome animal in North America. If I would ever win the lottery.......

Kodiak bear have always been my "DREAM" hunt forever. Never could afford the hunt until now but the bad part is I can no longer shoot the bow weight necessary to kill one of these awesome creatures so it still is a dream!
