David,

Good to "e"-meet ya.  Looking forward to a good hunt with y'all this spring.  I am OK with letting you keep the 4 yard title.  Twelve yards out and 8 feet up is more my speed.  But hey... we'll hunt 'em however they need hunting.

As for cigars, Camacho, Fuente, Graycliff, and La Aurora are some brands I enjoy most, corojo or sun-grown by any of the above are hard to beat.  Bourbon, wine or port are my preferred drinks w a smoke, but I could get by w a Molson or Half Pints Sweet Nikki Brown if I had to, eh?   :D

What ever works Darren   ;)

Brian, we will knock 'em down any way we can. And I will have to introduce you to some good Canadian brew!

Ah...I see it's started already. By the time the season gets here we'll be well aquainted.

Busy up here getting things lined up. Just spent a couple thousand on treestands, climbing sticks, 2 way radios, atv helmets and goggles, portable shower, etc. etc. Ya gotta love spending money on camp and hunting stuff!

Still 5 openings BTW.

Thanks guys....Ryan

Tyler and I don't smoke or drink, but we sure love a good Mt. Dew!  I'm thinking a 4 yard ground blind would be perfect for Tyler. I can video from the tree stand!  :)

Then Mt. Dew it is!!! As for Tyler eye to eye with a big bear and Dad videoing from the tree.....well we have to have a 2nd guy videoing the whole scene! Seriously though....that would be awesome!

Ryan   As a high school teacher my options for hunting trips are very limited.  How late into June do you hunt? I would be looking at a 2012 hunt.

Thanks!

Hi Bob...for 2012 my last week of hunters starts June 3rd. If however this year proves to be really good later into June, then I'd likely switch to later dates pushing the last week to June 10th? Exam time right?? Sorry!...Ryan

Yep!  That is what I thought.  Oh well!  Maybe I'll hit the lottery someday and not have to work for a living!  Thanks and Good Luck with the hunts!

Just got back from Ryan's place after talking about stickbows and the spring bear season. Spring can't come soon enough!

I know I am pretty excited but IndianaBowman I can't imagine how pumped your son is. Is it his first bear hunt?

I have put in for an elk tag in WY that I have been trying to draw for 5 years...is it wrong to halfway wish that I don't draw it so I can go hunt bears with Ryan THIS spring?   :knothead:

Perhaps I too will win the lotto and can tell the boss to take this job and shove it...but the boss is my wife and I only get one "away" hunt a year. Come on lucky numbers   :jumper:

Ryan, we are serious about the ground blind. How fun would that be. I can certainly video with him on the ground. It'd be a hoot! Tyler doesn't get rattled over much of anything.

If the setup calls for a ground blind we are all for it.

MB Bowman, my son Tyler is now 18 but has been hunting since he was 10. This will be his first bear hunt. He has taken some nice animals in his short hunting career. A 10' alligator was a memorable hunt for him. He has also taken wild hogs and some very nice whitetail deer (140"+). I think he can hold it together on a big bear eye to eye better than I could.
