Good move.  I was a part time recurve shooter for about 15 years.  I finally gave the compound up about 5 years ago.  I have NO regrets. Hunting became fun for me again.  everything that i kill with it means a lot more to me.

Good luck!

You should be afraid, the bow cost $700 the extra limbs $400! I got $425 for my compound so itbought the limbs. Keep in mind I'm in Ontario Canada and pay 13% tax on all non essential purchases, will likely be a little less for you but still likely half of what you paid for bow.

congrats, i made the switch about 4 years ago my self, and now i actually like shooting again, the compound just gets boring after awhile, and wait till you feel the excitement when you harvest your first deer with a trad bow

I will actually be moose hunting with it before I'm deer hunting. Wouldn't that be a blast, twenty yards and in with a bull moose looking for either love or a fight!!!

I remember someone saying, "when how you take the animal means more to you than how many you take, or how big they are, you'll commit to stickbows".  Welcome to the addiction! [/QB][/QUOTE]
Very well put! You will not regret going traditional. One of the reason I switched is because I was sick of all the gadgets. Somthing was always off. Now all I have is a recurve string and a glove, whats not to love? Jason

I did that 20 years ago, never missed the wheels or all the crap that comes with them.
