savanna draw limits?
« on: December 09, 2010, 08:27:00 AM »
I want a new/another bow real bad.  I'm sure a lot you yall can relate...
My question is about the Martin Savanna.  Will my 30" draw be too much for a 62" bow?  If so, what other bows in that same style would you recomend with a 1,000 limit?

Blaino:

Widow will build you a PL II or PL III one piece for $910.00.  They are exceptional bows.

Just a quick look up on Widow's and seems you would be best served by a 64" bow.  Could go up to 66".

You can call them and talk this over and even get a "test Drive"

shrew makes a great bow. I shoot a touch over 28" and have no problems on a 56". My buddy shoots it at a bit over 29" with no problems. I know guys shooting 56, 58 and 60's with no problems at 30". For a 30" draw can't go wrong with the 60". If you don't get too fancy, you can get a base model for $600-$800, could even get one with a bow bolt for $1000 or less.

If you have that much money I'd wait and do some research.  Go to some shows and shoot as many as you can, bowyers will be more than willing to allow you to shoot one.  If you like it they'll be even more willing to let you buy it on the spot!

If you've shot the Savannah and like it they're on here in the classified section.

If you like that design there are a lot of bowyers that can make one very simular out of any wood combination you could imagine.

WhisperStik VooDoo
Dwyer Dauntless
Apex Predator Ossabaw
Northern Mist Barraga

There a ton of options out there.

Some forward handle longbows:
JK Traditions Kanati
Shrew
Lost Creek
Striker

You're going to get a lot of info later today.
