Thanks for all the well wishes for Molly.  She is getting around a little now with one crutch.  We were supposed to go down to our little horse farm in Aiken, SC right after Christmas but that will be postponed for a couple of months.  I had just joined a lease on the Savannah River for this winter...err I guess now for this spring.  Things could definitely been worse and bones will heal up with a little time.

Steve O,
Not hunting with the Wensels but close to same area.  I went with Tom Phillips and 4 others from western Mass.  They had all been to the same location before.  I was totally unprepared for what I saw.  I new the bucks were renowned in that area...But until you see it in person, it's kind of like a fairy tale!  One day we saw 8 bucks chasing a doe in a field.  Two of them were over 150 class.

I don't measure or enter my harvests in P&Y except one bear just to show other Trad Gangers about the quality of bears at Bear Quest.  I saw huge bucks everyday.  My 12 pt was the Smallest buck taken      Doc

Jeff

Great buck......glad to see photos...I had to picture him in my head after Tom gave me all the juicy details!

Sorry to hear Molly has to hop around with crutches for the holidays!  Sounds like you might be doing the cooking for a while.......

Have a great holiday season.

Rut in Iowa is almost magical. I absolutely love this part of the country for its hunting and outdoor activities, even when its -25 degrees out!

ALL RIGHT TIPPIT!! Looking forward to the tale. Best wishes to Molly. You being a vet and all... she's lucky you're the way you are. I've heard stories about what you guys do when a horse breaks a leg. Man.. tough break (no pun intended). Now I suppose she'll want you to take over her job of shoveling the driveway this winter. BW
