A Poll on carring a Bow
«
on:

I saw on TV that they have a handle to add to Your Bow (Wheelie) so You don't carry it by the string.
My Question is do You carry Your bow by the string?

Sometimes by the string, but much more often by the grip. Other than them wanting to sell you something, what's so bad about carrying a longbow by the string??

I don't know if it's bad to carry one by the string or not but I do know it would take me longer to get an arrow on if the situation called for one.

grip, if carry on the string you risk loosening you knock.

I didn't vote. I do both. By the grip a lot of times, but by the string if I have something else also in that hand or if I have something on my side or back that could ding up my bow. Holding it my the string can get the bow out of the way from something like a tree stand on my back.

I carry both ways , but more so by the handle.. I know it is more so for them wheels from going out of whack.. But I had to see what Tradgangers think/do.

I carry my bow by the grip with bowstring facing the ground.

I carry it by whatever way is handy.
Heck, sometimes between targets at a 3D shoot I balance one end on my palm as I walk.
This seems to be more of an issue for wheels, I can't see it making any difference for a trad bow.

I do both. A lot of bows get stored hanging by the string...dont see what it could hurt.

I get less snags on brush if I carry it by the handle, string down.

My bow is more comfortable to carry by the handle. I wouldn't be a bit afraid of carrying it by the string though. When I was hunting with compounds I made a loop of string where the limb and riser came together. Then I took a bag strap with the plastic clips (like dog leash clips) and attached to these loops and carried on my shoulder to keep my hands more or less free and the weight of the bow out of my hands. Not near as bulky as those things you see covering the strings and wheels on compounds on TV and the adds. Much cheaper too.

By the handle....carrying by the string with a bow quiver just invites extra clanking against brush/snags.
