Day-1 and First lite are two that come to mind.

First lite is merino and very light weight (almost hard to believe it is wool).  If you are going First Lite- wait until after June when they are going to re-style/re-size their products.

Bears can attack people- although fewer people have been killed by bears than in all WWI and WWII combined.

I have the Day-1 windstop pants, with weather check waist in wool asat. Very nice pants, durable, comfortable, and VERY warm! Pockets are all laid out nicely and I love the weather check waist. Probably too warm for Az.
I also have the FirstLite merino wool Llano, and Labador sweater (both in asat). Very versatile clothing. I can wear one llano in warm temps (50-60degrees), as the weather drops I add another llano, then as it get colder I add the Labador sweater. I would check out the First Lite Gila pants in wool asat.

Hard to beat clothes from DayOne. Good stuff. Im getting a couple sets of their light fleece for elk hunting.
...stood alone on a montaintop, starin out at a great divide, I could go east, I could go West, it was all up to me to decide, just then I saw a young hawk flyin and my soul began to rise......
