I joined in the 80's after first finding out about PBS from a few magazines given me by my outfitter friend....and knew then that I wanted to be a part of it.
PBS is'nt just an organization formed to promote bowhunting, as are most...it is also a gathering place for those who make bowhunting a "bigger" part of the picture in their lives. That was me then, and still is.
And PBS's structured membership insures it will remain as so. I like that too. You don't see the constant ebb and flow of emotional issues and controversial members within PBS...just dedicated bowhunters who know how to tackle issues like gentlemen, (and women), keep debates lively but civil, and truly enjoy each others company. Many are leaders in their own bowhunting lives on more local levels, and they bring that "professsionalism" with them. That's why I became a regular member a decade ago, and have gotten both my sons involved as associate members as well.
Did'nt mean for this to sound like an ad! But hey, what a great group they are! Just wish I could attend more of the biennial banquets.
It's no wonder that PBS'ers and Trad-gangers are involved in both places....very similar in many ways!
