Hey Nick,

I've lived in Northwest Montana for my entire 47 years of life.  I have a lot of pictures, but not available online, at least not on this computor.  What part of the state are you looking for?  I'm west of the cont-divide, east is a whole different setting.

Any part thats in the moutain I guess in elk country id also like to see some river bottom country. Hows the living and hunting in Montana? I hear the winters are extreme and you cant even go outside because of deep snow and frigid cold.

Heres a couple pics to get you started!!

To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

2Blade, look through the Highlights 2004 - 2006 and you will find lots of pictures from successful hunts in Montana that will cover a wide range of the state.  Joseph

The Beaverhead Valley east of Dillon.

Looking east from Lemhi Pass.

Yellowstone.  Bugling elk in front of us and herds of buff to the side.

Avalanche Creek in Glacier.

Looking toward Ear Mountain outside Choteau.

An autograph from somebody else who enjoyed Montana.  Pompey's Pillar along the Yellowstone.

These first two were take while lion hunting last December.

This was taken while on one of my rive bottom treestands last fall.

I took this one on Christmas day 2005.

The first two and the last one were taken within five miles of my house.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Is the winters truly extreme there where you get feet of snow and the temps are below zero everyday to where you dont want to go outside?

Hey Nick,  don't believe the comments about the weather.  It can get very cold but here in the Beaverhead valley it is not horrible.  I am from SW Oklahoma originally and if I can handle the weather, so can you.  Some days it gets real cold but in the valleys the wind stays pretty calm as a general rule and that helps a bunch.  Don't let the weather keep you from coming.  Have a good day and keep 'em in the middle, TMG.

I have lived in Montana my entire life aside from my time in the Army and then 2 years of college.  I have been through winters where it never got above -20 degrees for a couple of weeks at a time and I have been through winters where it hardly even snowed.  You just take them as they come.  Same with how much snow we get, it varies, you just deal with it. It will also get over 100 degrees during the summer here to, makes a person tough.  Joseph
