Chris Surtees has gone on before us.  He died in a motorcycle accident last night.

Please keep his family in your hearts and prayers.

Chris and his dad Larry have been tremendous contributors on Trad Gang for a long time.  They gave of their time and knowledge both willingly and graciously.  And they always gave a huge effort for the annual St Judes Auction as well.

I was fortunate enough to ride in the truck with Chris last year at Solana Ranch, and was looking forward to seeing him again soon.  He was also a seasoned hunter and woodsman.  Someone you could take advice from to the bank.

Chris will always be remembered here for all the positive things he represented in his life, and he will be deeply missed.

My condolences to the family and friends.

Am I correct that this was unexpected? I know this comes as a shock to me.

I asked that but am immediately reminded that we aren't promised anything more than the present and should live accordingly.

I do believe that Chris did exactly that, he lived life to it's fullest. I will miss his writings here.

I pray God's peace and assurance for his family.

Rest in peace Chris, until that day!

God bless,Mudd

I edited the original post.  I left out the cause. As you can imagine, I'm not much for typing right now.

He was generous with the St. Judes auction and a stand up guy. I was lucky enough to buy an item off of him and will keep it in his memory.

I'm shocked to say the least. If there is anything that needs done or any help to be given please let us know.

Say What!!!
I dont know what to say.  I had the pleasure to know Chris and build him 2 bows. A nicer more sincere fellow did not walk this earth.  I am dumbfounded.
My deepest condolences to his family.
I am so sorry for your loss. Chris was a Patriot and hero for a country.

Boy, Tarz, you can make a man's stomach just do flips reading that post!  :(

I shared 4th of July with Chris down at Ray's.

Indeed, he was a hunter and a super person. We had exchanged emails for a spell afterwards and that was one man who lived to hunt and was a person anyone could share a fire with and enjoy.

My deepest sympathy to his Dad and family, his military family and all who knew and enjoyed his warm persona.

Rest well, friend. You will indeed be missed.  You're welcome to shadow me anytime till we meet in His presence.  Your guidance would be well received.
