Prayers and condolences for the Krenz family.  This is a sad morning for bowhunting.

I loved conversing with Bill.  There was not one facet of hunting he was not an authority on.  Modern archery, "old time archery" (as he called it), rifles, backpacking.  It did not matter the subject, he had been there and done that.  I was very sad to get the news from Marv.  Not more than a month ago, I sent him one of my new TallTines recurves to do a bow test on.  I knew it would be in good hands and he was happy to get his hands on it to put it thru its paces.  What a great review he wrote.  I will miss his outdoor wisdom, his willingness to share it, AND the excellent way he did share it in both his words and excellent photography.

I am sure many remember Bill from his most recent magazine, "Bowhunt America" and before that his many years with Bowhunter.  But he had deep roots in traditional archery.  He held jobs in archery from the local Bow Hut to president of Bear Archery!  In my most recent correspondence with Bill, he mentioned he had completed his collection of EVERY variation of the Bear Kodiak from 1950-1970.  Here is a photo he sent of a very small part of the collection in his office.

There is a picture of him floating around with a beautiful buck antelope and an equally beautiful 59 Kodiak.  He had just done a tutorial on field photos, and he took some of the finest!

Bill Krenz was in sheep shape.  His passing goes to show that you must live every day to the fullest, he was the last person I would have expected to get this news about.
