Kota Bow
« on: December 14, 2010, 07:52:00 PM »
Anyone ever shoot a Kota TFX TD Recurve.  I have a guy that wants to trade one for my old compound bow.  It is 62" 50# @29.  He said he ordered it and shot it once and couldn't hit anything so he wants to go back to a compound bow.  I am just wondering if they are good bows and how they shoot?

I have shot all of the Kota's and the TFX is my favorite one, they shoot right where ya look. Tim builds a dang nice recurve!

The worst traditional Bow is better than the best compound.  What you got to loose. But I do have one of Tim's Killum recurves, and its a real nice shooter.  Go for it before he changes his mind.  RW.

I shoot a one piece Kota Prairie Swift. It took some tuning, but I got it shooting just the way I wanted. It's my go to hunting bow, and the bow I harvested a whitetail with this fall. Very good bow!

Do it...quickly! Kotas are great bows...very well made, accurate, and pretty quick. It would sure beat a compound!

Ok, so I showed up at the trade and the guy hands me a brand new never shot arch royal 51# @29 62" cocobola and birdseye maple.  The riser is cocobola and the limbs have the slash with cocobola on bottom and birdsey maple on top.  I took it home and shot it.  Wow, it shoots a 575 grain arrow awesome and the lighter weight and longer bow has helped my accuracy.  Thanks to all for the advise.
